Critique: Bathrooms & More Store’s Corner Vanity Units Webpage

bath and more

Upon entering Bathrooms & More Store’s webpage for their corner vanity unit products, the first thing that I had noticed was the large image featuring one of the website’s on-sale offers. This image is somewhat like a carousel that slides in once the page has been fully loaded and changes over a short period and in my personal opinion, it is a great way to showcase a product that is on-sale.

What I had loved the most about the website is its excellent use of colour. All of the colours used in the website complement each other. The white background had definitely complimented the light blue, dark blue combination and had made the website visually appealing.

The website had made use of a simple navigation system. There are only four buttons in the navigation panel and all of them refer to the products and the services that the website is offering: oak top vanity units, stone top vanity units, bathroom basins, and bathroom furniture.

The web designers had definitely done a good job by incorporating simplicity in the design which not only enhances the functionality of the website but makes it easier for potential customers to navigate through the website.

There is also another navigation panel above the search panel which tells about more about the company, its products and services as well as a blog.

The uppermost area features the header as well as a search panel and another navigation panel above it, a cart showing how much you have to pay and how many items are in the basket and below the carousel is a brief written introduction to the product being showcased in the webpage. In the middle section of the webpage you’ll find a selection of measurements for corner vanity units for you to choose from followed by images of the different oak vanity units that the company is offering.

The design aspect of the website is overwhelmingly simple but in a good way.

The webpage was effectively done by the web designers with enhanced functionality, readability thus making it user-friendly.

Web Design Critique:

jobs db

First impression

At first glance, you would immediately determine that the site is an online directory for Jobs in Thailand. It serves as the connection between businesses and job seekers so that talent sourcing will be efficient. The web directory currently lists more than 15,000 job opportunities. The first thing you will notice with the site is Default Language Settings that allows you to choose between English and Thai language. To get started with the search, you can enter either a job title or an employer name on the search bar. Companies that are hiring for the week are also featured which makes it convenient and easy for anyone who is searching for a job. First impression of the site is it is simple, user friendly and properly organized.

Navigation is very critical for a job portal but the web designer has seen to it that the job seeker will easily find what he is looking for. It is very apparent that web designer has made the effort to simplify the website so that search will not be complicated and time consuming. Content is structurally separated from the navigation bars located at the top and bottom of the website. The website has a clear statement of purpose with exceptionally clear call to action on each page. Response is immediately achieved immediately after a click has been made on a hyperlink. Links are properly labeled so that there is a clear indication of where you will be lead to.

Content is clearly expressed and informative. Content speaks to the target audience effectively. The contrast between text and white background makes reading rather easy on the eyes. Even if the website contains a lot of content, it can be user friendly when text is broken into readable chunks and highlighted by headings and sub-headings.

Site design is simple but aesthetically appealing. Nothing beats white when it comes to background color because it makes text readable for visitors who do not know how to adjust their browsers. The fonts used are easy to read on different screen resolutions. The design is simply appropriate for the objective of the website.

Web Critique: VIMI.CO’s iOS/Android App Development

VIMI.CO’s iOS-Android App Development

First Impression:

Upon entering the webpage for VIMI.CO’s iOS/Android App Development services, what I had first noticed is how attractive the webpage is. At first you would think that the webpage is complexly designed however, upon closer inspection, you would realize that it is actually much simpler than it appears. It is safe to say that the webpage mixes both simplistic and complex elements that make it more engaging and creative in a way that would make visitors continue on with the page.

I can say that the webpage is eye-candy however you would only expect to find such a well-designed website from a web development company. The webpage exudes so much professionalism that it wouldn’t be hard for it to convince visitors to try the service being offered.

The navigation aspect of the webpage or the whole website is fairly simple. You would not find a navigation panel and instead, you would see a fairly-sized ghost button or what could be a navigation/menu icon opposite the company logo. Upon clicking that icon, it would expand to reveal a vertically placed navigation panel consisting of 8 points of navigation: the homepage, a page for the company’s portfolio, a page that would showcase the clients they have serviced, a page for the services they offer, one for FAQs, another page that would tell you more about the company, a blog page, and a contact’s page.

Also on the expanded navigation panel, you would find a social media panel which makes sense because it would have no place on the webpage itself due to how it is designed.

Content, Layout & Design:

The webpage is actually divided into two separate web pages, which you can shift from by clicking one of the colon-like buttons on the rightmost part of the webpage. The first page features that main content that explains the service being offered, which is all about web/mobile app development, and a reoccurring call-to-action button. You would also find a testimonial below as well. The second page is another call-to-action that would help the visitor in acquiring an instant quote.

When it comes to design, the webpage is attractive and creative without even using videos, animations or images.

The webpage features an advanced yet simple design that is not only user friendly but eye candy as well. It is well-built and the professionalism literally comes out of the screen.

Web Design Critique: Delias

First impression

Web users can form an impression of a website in just a few seconds. The website that I am about to critique has visual appeal even if design is simple and familiar. The web designer has followed conventional steps of creating a site with a fixed idea on how an online store should look like. As you scan the web pages, you will easily see the generous use of white space which is one of the most valuable elements of design. White space is easy on the eyes and makes users want to keep on reading content. White space when used in web design does not immediately imply minimalism because when used in the right way, it can generate elegance or sophistication which is very critical for websites dealing with fashion.

Navigation bars provide the direction where it wants visitors to go to. It helps visitors find out what they are looking for. Because of the generous use of white space, navigation links are clearly visible and the call to action button is specifically highlighted. However, the call to action could do with more prominence on the landing page because there is a tendency for a visitor to overlook its presence. Sometimes, the best way to make an element standout is to make it bigger but surrounding the button with white space can be just as effective.

High quality content is critical to the success of a website. Content includes images, texts and video but in many instances, it is images that call attention to a site. It is important for web users to keep on visiting a site that is why content must always be updated and fresh. The site includes different categories so that the search for items will be easier and more efficient.

One thing is clear; a website has to look with lots of quality content but without an information overload. Professional designers from can assist you with the design of your online store according to your requirements. Feel free to contact us so that we can provide you a free quote.

Website Critique: Bee Academic Tutoring

Website Critique: Bee Academic Tutoring

First Impression
The webpage had mainly focused on Tutoring in Long Beach, one of the areas that Bee Academic Tutoring caters to, and upon entering the site, the first thing that I had noticed is how simple the webpage is. There is only a single image used besides the company logo and the background of the webpage is a plain white. Although, the simplistic trend has become one of the most popular trends in the world of web design, there are times when simplicity becomes dull and this webpage is a proof of that.

In terms of navigation, you really do not have to expect much. The only thing you really need to pay attention to are the navigation panel and the scroll bars. The navigation panel is basically the same one used in every page of the Bee Academic Tutoring website. I can say that simplicity has a good place in navigation because it adds to the user experience of the site’s visitors. Overall, the navigation aspect of the webpage is fairly decent.

Layout & Design
The webpage mainly follows a simplistic design. Unfortunately, the design aspect of the webpage has become too simple and because of that, it had also become quite dull. Although white is a clean and preferable to some, I also believe that colors bring life to a webpage and this webpage, in particular, definitely needs to add more color.

Even the content of the webpage is simple. They only revolved around the brief summary of the tutoring services offered by Bee Academic Tutoring in Long Beach, a simple history of Long Beach and the education system there along with special mentions of known educational institutes.

There is no special box for the content; they were just simply laid out in the webpage without any special effects and using only a basic, neutral font.
The webpage had also made use of a Google map in the bottom regions of the webpage to help visitors understand where Long Beach is located.

Contact details are listed in the bottom areas of the webpage along with some call to actions and social media icons.

The webpage would need great improvements in the design aspect. I recommend adding more color, using better fonts and adding a few attractions to the webpage.

Web Design Critique: Go Laser Eye Surgery Liverpool

Web Design Critique: Go Laser Eye Surgery Liverpool

With the cost of laser eye surgery in Liverpool, it is not surprising that most people would look online for the best yet affordable option such as Go Laser Eye Surgery Liverpool. First impression with the website,, as soon as you enter the site is that it loads faster than most e-commerce website. There is a slideshow header and a video at the homepage but it does not stop the page from loading fast. A fast loading homepage is very important especially for businesses who are aiming to get more clicks and more visitors on the site. With this age where everything is automatic, no one is going to patiently wait as the website loads. Most probably, the potential customer will just click and wait a few seconds. If it takes longer than a minute then they will automatically close the site and go look for another one. This is why images and videos on a site should be optimized and minimized in order to load faster.

Go Laser Eye Surgery Liverpool is a website that caters to people who are looking for the best eye clinic in Liverpool. It is important that the website is user friendly especially when it comes to usability. Usability is the ease of navigation around the homepage and the various pages of the website. The client can easily tell where to click when he or she needs contact information or has questions regarding the service.

Since this is a website for people who have poor eyesight or experience some eye condition, it is important that the typography is well thought of. The white background and the clean design help with this because the fonts and information are easily read. The only problem is that some of the information on the homepage is written in small fonts and the definition of different laser procedure in boxed format has orange for the font color. This may be easily read by someone who has a 20/20 vision but it can be quite bright and small for those who have eye conditions. The website should look at more closely at the type of customers that they are catering.

The website is fast, clean and optimized design and the site is user friendly. One can easily visit various pages inside the site and there are a lot of information inside for those who are interested with eye surgery.
