TurboTax works says that they’ll do all the math, and the customers only need to simple questions about their lives, what they do for a living, whether they own a home, any dependents or the like. They also give a guarantee that taxes and zoom filings will be done right, since they’re updated with the latest tax laws.

The first thing you can see in the home page is the header that tells you how long you have to file your taxes, which, for those filing in 2018, it’s 4/17/18, thanks to a holiday. It’s the first thing you see in the page, following by the header and the main menu themselves. It’s a nice reminder, and most certainly adhering to the ‘up-to-date’ bit.

The first image you’ll see is a welcoming woman holding a tablet showing off her federal tax refund, which is flanked by the text telling customers that they’re guaranteed to get the maximum federal tax refund. The “guaranteed” is even emboldened in blue text, which stands out from the plain white background.

Here’s something worth noting, the site is very plain with the only splashes of colors from images or from links. This doesn’t make the site feel bland, because there are quite a few images and links, each giving a splash of color, though it is still primarily white. There are also blue bars that gives out the fine points of the firm’s operations, which is straightforward.

There are also three icons with three assurances to customers. First, is Maximum Refund Guarantee, followed by Complete Check of Returns and, finally, 100% Accurate Calculations Guarantee, which any visitor will be seeing quite a bit. There are arrows, which promote what the firm does, how it helps you with zoom filings, that sort of thing.

There’s also promotions for their products, which, once again, use welcoming images of joyful people in order to promote their products and services, with reviews. Once you get past the initial “Start for Free” events there’s just promotions for products. Notably, the start for free page is very barebones once you get there, which is notable, when compared to every other page, the log in page, etc. It is only at the bottom of the page where you’ll see links for the other key pages, which means you’ll have to do quite a bit of scrolling down.

The site’s quite straightforward, though there’s quite a bit of heavy leaning towards promotions, and the visual aids are primarily aimed at promoting the services and products, so you’ll have to take a bit of a look, with a bit of clicking to do to get where you want.
